The National Cartoonist Society operated a booth at the big convention, as they have done for the past several years. A few photos from the 2006 San Diego extravaganza were shuffled into this website's Reuben Weekend photo roundup. Here are some more, as well as a look at the convention floor.
Phil Pyster of Crow-Segal kept the NCS booth running smoothly. He poses here with Jim Whiting of the Southern California Cartoonists Society.
Beetle Bailey's Brian Walker was there with wife Abby.
Jim Whiting again, with Craig Boldman, holding down the fort. There's Luann's Greg Evans over Craig's shoulder.
Greg Evans with The Family Circus' Jeff Keane.
A couple of typical comics fans.
On Thursday night, the Southern California chapter hosted a party for the various and sundry cartoonists. The gentleman in the red shirt is Jack White, proprietor of Jack's Magic Place, where the gathering was held. He's doing card tricks.
As you can see, there was a pretty good turnout.
Dean LeCrone, Prez of the SCCS, and Master of Ceremonies for the event. R.C. Harvey is sneaking in the door.
Daryl Cagle and son.
Things are in full swing. The program was food and games, followed by a series of guest speakers.
On deck is Andrew Feinstein, creator of the strip "Girls and Sports."

Next up, Brian Walker.
Back at the convention, Peanuts is a popular booth.
Here's a booth giving out some kind of gross-out trading cards. You have to reach into the handy urinal to get them.
