GLCer Roy Doty (R) gets in a group photo of NCS members who've been in the NCS for 35 years or more, but Dave Folkman (second from right) is a bit young to be in this exclusive group. GLCer Dave Coverly, creator of the syndicated panel, "Speed Bump," and a current NCS board member, was at the Reuben Awards banquet. No doubt he thought of the time when he won a division award for best syndicated comic panel a few years back.

Yet another GLCer wins a division award at the Reuben banquet in Kansas City May 29th. This time it was Chris Payne of Cincinnati who was awarded the coveted plaque in the Book Illustration category. In the red bow tie is Frank Springer, who presented the award to Chris.
