Great Lakes Chapter
20th Anniversary Party

Our chapter’s anniversary celebration was lots of fun!  It was wonderful to see so many chapter members from all over Ohio, spouses, and chapter friends, as well as Darryl’s fiancée, Dawn, Chip Bok’s son John, and Paul Comb’s daughter and even a visitor from the NCS Northwest chapter, Daniel McConnell.

The Watterson/Thompson show in elegant Sullivant Hall was fabulous and the movie “Dear Mr. Watterson” was very interesting.  Even had a cameo with Tony Cochran!

Schmidt’s German Village did a delicious buffet for us and we had great door prizes.  A big thank you to everyone who contributed a door prize – original art, autographed books, and very special goodies.  Although Richard Thompson and Bill Watterson were not at our dinner, we did have a rare large photo of Bill to keep us company.

Dan Collins reports that he is almost finished with the chapter’s joint Reuben ad so we’ll know what our individual shares of the ad will be pretty soon.

Finally, we were glad to hear that Roy Doty is much better after the big fall he had before Christmas, but the activity of Saturday was going to be a bit too strenuous for him so we didn’t see him or Nancy this time, unfortunately.

We’ll be sending info about our neat new chapter project soon and hope everyone will enjoy participating. Frank Pauer has been drafter as the designer.

Someone noticed that the party favors were made from the hem of Polly's dress ... apparently the latest trend in party favors. As useful as a notepad with unsharpened GLC pencils <g> but still uber nifty!

Photos thanks to the Polly Keener and John Steventon!

HAPPY 20th GLC!
